Guildbound

Guildbound adds three character slots for players and a shared guild sheet for a PF2e West Marches campaign.

Character slots

  • Players see a character selector when they enter the world. Each Foundry user has three slots.
  • A filled slot selects that Actor as the user's active character for the session.
  • Empty slots create a character and open its sheet. In PF2e/SF2e worlds with PF2e Leveler enabled, use the sheet's Create Character button to start Leveler's wizard.
  • Character cards show PF2e level, class, and ancestry when those details are present.
  • Guildbound blocks normal non-GM Actor creation outside the three-slot flow, including NPCs and other Actor types. GMs and Assistant GMs can create Actors normally.

This is a client-side workflow restriction: Foundry's pre-create hook runs on the client requesting an Actor. A player who deliberately bypasses or disables the module could still use Foundry's broader Create New Actors permission. For strict enforcement, revoke that permission for player roles and have the GM prepare or create player characters.

Guild sheet

The Actors sidebar includes a Gilde button. The sheet provides:

  • Guild level, renown, and treasury in gold.
  • Character-bound guild offices with separate permissions for progress, treasury, inventory, and HQ offers/purchases.
  • HQ offers maintained by the GM, with location, price, notes, and an optional Foundry Scene link. A permitted office can purchase an offer; Guildbound checks the balance, deducts the price, and moves the HQ into the owned list.
  • A shared PF2e inventory backed by a PF2e Loot Actor. A GM prepares it once; inventory officers can drag PF2e physical items into the guild inventory and adjust quantities.

Office controls are shown only while the appointed character is the player's active Foundry character. Requests for treasury, HQ, and inventory changes are relayed to the active GM client, which updates the shared world data or Loot Actor. Guildbound blocks ordinary direct edits to its PF2e Loot Actor and routes inventory changes through the guild sheet. These checks run in the Foundry client; they are intended for a trusted campaign group, not as a security boundary against a player deliberately forging client-side module socket messages or disabling the module.

The guild sheet is currently built for PF2e. Character selection and three-slot support remain available in systems that use the conventional character Actor type.

Install for development

Copy this folder to the Foundry Data/modules/guildbound directory, restart Foundry, and enable Guildbound in the world's module settings. PF2e Leveler is recommended for its character-creation wizard; Guildbound itself does not require Leveler to select existing characters.

Compatibility

The module targets Foundry VTT 13 and 14. Guild inventory setup requires Pathfinder Second Edition.
